She holds the distinction of being a licensed educational psychologist in California (LEP# 4084) and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Her academic credentials include a Master of Science and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
With over 20 years of experience in the public school system, Ms. Chen-Ward brings a profound understanding of the myriad learning, social-emotional, and behavioral challenges that students encounter in their educational paths. She possesses extensive expertise in identifying the most effective actions and strategies that schools and families can implement to support each student's unique needs.
Ms. Chen-Ward's proficiency encompasses a broad spectrum of developmental, neuropsychological, and mental health disorders prevalent in school-aged children. She is adept at conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, crucial for determining eligibility and services, and is skilled in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and Section 504 plans, tailored to the specific requirements of each student.
Her knowledge extends to special education procedures, laws, and regulations. Ms. Chen-Ward frequently offers consultations to parents, educators, and school administrators, guiding them through the complexities of special education with clarity and compassion.
